Unveiling the hidden meaning behind triangles in Filipino Martial Arts πΊ
Ever notice how triangles seem to be everywhere in Filipino Martial Arts (FMA)? Logos, footwork patterns β they're all over the place!
So, what's the deal with all these triangles?
You'll probably see them first in the logos of FMA schools and training groups. It's true, many instructors have incorporated triangles into their branding. You'll notice that I chose a different approach for my logo, two overlapping circles. (Actually, there are triangles in there β just hidden. Check out the story behind the Chrysalis Kali logo, the Eye ποΈ of the Crocodile π , here.)
Footwork patterns are another common place you'll encounter triangles in FMA training. But the triangle goes way beyond just shapes and movements. It's a powerful training tool used to explore concepts. These concepts help us understand and organize our training beyond just learning physical techniques. FMA uses the triangle to bridge the gap between physical training and the mental and spiritual aspects of the art.
